Ikarus Festival

A three-day electronic camping festival on the Allgäu Airport grounds in Memmingen, laid out on a former military airfield where the runway, patches of forest and old bunkers hold eight stages.

Techno has its own tent, house plays among the trees, hard techno runs inside a concrete bunker, Hardstyle has a stage of its own and psytrance a dressed-up stretch of woodland. Wooden gates and lit forest paths link the stages, and an Experience Stage adds talks, podcasts and interviews. Camping sits beside the festival grounds, with free hot showers, a shop and optional car, caravan and comfort camping. Planes cross the sky above the crowd, and a beer garden serves wheat beer.
